After witnessing what seems to be a simple small act of crime, Black Talon finds she has been lured into a trap...with a strange villian who she has never seen before...with a deadly ability to change everyone around her.

Black Talon's claws are crushed and useless in this trap...and she is taken to safety by a stranger named "Longshot". Longshot has taken Black Talon to Spectre Mine, Arizona...where he helps the superheroine transform into a being three times more powerful than before....

After the murder of Black Claw, her younger sister takes up the cause and becomes Black Talon! Black Talon attempts to bring Phoenix, Arizona under control…but is hopelessly outnumbered…until she runs into fellow superhumans Lynx and the mysterious Obscura Prime.
